LINDA WILLSON
Full Time Realtor - Lifetime Horsewoman

When you are buying or selling property in Kentucky's real estate market, it's important to have confidence in your real estate professional. My commitment as your local REALTOR® is to provide you with the specialized real estate service you deserve.

I am Virginia- born and raised. Growing up in " Horse Country" in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, I was fortunate to have a little spotted Cob mare who was my childhood partner. She safely carried me through the deep woods and rolling meadows of the Rapidan Hunt Country and is fully responsible for setting me off on my life-long love affair with horses and presently, much to my surprise and delight, mules.

So the first 40 years of my life were devoted to honing my skills in just about every facet of the Horse Industry. I was a student, apprentice and eventual instructor at the Junior Equitation School under the guidance of Jane Marshall Dillon. This experience led me to the world of Veterinary Medicine. I worked as a Vet. Tech. at the Georgetown Veterinary Hospital, a cutting edge large and small animal hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. Always seeking new and exciting opportunities, I applied to and was accepted for an apprenticeship with the English National Stud in NewMarket, England.

Back in the 1970's I was the first woman admitted to the program. It was at this point in my life that I met the love of my life, Chris Willson. We shared so many of the same interests and saw the world through the same set of eyes, so we married and then set sail for Australia for a taste of life "Down-Under". Upon returning to the states Chris continued his career in farm development and management while I took on the role of "stay at home Mom".

In 1984 we realized a dream come true when Chris was offered a management position at the original Margaux Stud in Woodford County, Kentucky. We packed up our two adorable and cherished sons, belongings and animal family and made our way to the Bluegrass! After two and one-half years with Margaux Chris was offered the position to develop and act as general manager of Woods Edge Farm formerly known as Castle Lawn Farm and located on Old Richmond Road in Lexington.

It was during our six year tenure with Woods Edge that the real estate seed was planted. During the development of Woods Edge I was involved with the intimacies of design, layout, building and completion of the houses, barns and facilities. At this stage in my life I was no longer as eager to break yearlings and I was growing tired of the long days spent at the horse sales and the exhausting nights foaling mares while raising two rambunctious boys. I knew in my heart that it was time to change my focus and begin to explore new possibilities, after much encouragement from Chris I decided to pursue a career in Real Estate.

In 1989 I became a licensed, full-time Realtor and have never looked back. The job description fits my personality to a tee and I have thrived in this world of selling Real Estate beyond my wildest dreams. Over the years I have helped hundreds of people successfully move to, from and around the Bluegrass.

I am as delighted and comfortable helping the first time home buyer as I am finding my customers the perfect farm or taking a client through the process of building a home from the ground up- for me its the perfect world. I meet the challenges each day brings with enthusiasm. In Real Estate there are many and varied "irons to tend" and it takes a high level of energy and devotion to tend them all well.

Fortunately Chris, licensed as a Realtor since 1993, works by my side bringing insight and experience to the table. It is a partnership that benefits everyone involved. We do have our own piece of the Bluegrass which we call "Naulakha"- jewel beyond price. It is there that we recharge our batteries and enjoy time spent with our mules, horses, dogs, cats, fish and the myriad of wildlife that roams through our secluded little valley on a daily basis. Our dear sons call Colorado home and attend school, work and enjoy life in the mountains to the fullest.

I take great pride in offering each and every client and customer my very best effort in each and every transaction. My clientele expects and receives from me the highest degree of dedication, expertise and integrity. I am blessed beyond words to have a job which brings me so much joy and connects me with so many interesting and wonderful people.
