CHRIS WILLSON
Realtor - Consultant to clients regarding farm development and management

Licensed as a Realtor in 1993, I assist Linda with her listings and develop and manage our businesses. In addition, I consult with clients and customers regarding farm development and management. I look forward to meeting you and helping you in whatever way I can to enjoy your own unique piece of the Bluegrass.

Happy trails,
Chris Willson

Born in Reigate, England and raised on a large agricultural property in central Ohio I developed a deep appreciation for land, livestock, and hard work. After earning a degree in Biology from the University of Maryland and serving in the Army, I have worked as a farrier, groom, assistant trainer and developer/manager of many types of agricultural properties over the last four decades. Crop farms, commercial vineyards, feedlots, cattle, sheep, and horse operations have all been part of the mix. I have been entrusted by resident owners, absentee owners, and foreign investors to develop and subsequently manage their properties as if they were my own.

The Thoroughbred business brought me, Linda and our two sons, Whit and Monty, to Kentucky in 1984 from the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains just north of Charlottesville, Virginia. We moved here so that I could oversee the horse operation at Margaux Stud a Thoroughbred Nursery near Midway, Kentucky. Steve Johnson (general manager/partner) and Ed Seltzer (owner) did a masterful job envisioning, and creating Margaux from a cattle farm previously owned by Mr & Mrs Brereton Jones. I was then given the opportunity by Ron and Lori Kirk, founders of Kirk Horse Insurance, to act as developer and general manager, metamorphosing the old Castlelawn Farm into what became Woods Edge Farm, a beautiful thoroughbred farm on Old Richmond Road. Recently I have been shaping a special piece of Kentucky that we feel blessed to call home. It is a place where we rekindle our fires and enjoy our dogs, mules and horses.

We enjoy travel, riding, sailing, camping, and spending time with our sons in Colorado. Our time in the Rockies is special to us whether participating in outdoor activities or "hanging out" with our sons enjoying gods wonders and being inspired by the history and stories of the pioneers/cowboys of the frontier west.

As I reflect on years past I realize that I have been given amazing opportunities to work with many wonderful people. Many had valuable lessons to teach me when I was open enough to listen. It is a theme which continues into the present. Property owners, contractors, vendors, veterinarians, peers, friends, people who worked for me, my Realtor family, my Travel family and complete strangers have all helped me develop a special outlook on life, motivating me to continue learning, growing, and striving to reach my potential. My most treasured gifts....my wife, sons and family are the ones with whom I share my memories, goals, and dreams. They are my daily inspiration and without them I would be much less of a person.
